This Privacy Policy is a container that gives a clear shape to what our picture of online integrity looks like: when and why we collect your personal information, how it is used, and the limited conditions under which we might disclose it to others, as well as how we keep it secure.
WHAT DO WE DO WITH YOUR INFORMATION
When you browse the site, we also automatically receive your computer’s internet protocol (IP) address in order to provide us with information that helps us learn about your browser and operating system (this helps us make sure we create a web experience that is working great for all our users). Any services you purchase through us are done outside of the confines of our website; you may request information about the secure storing of your information at the beginning of any new client contracts.
Email marketing:
When you sign up for an account with Women with Moxie, you are automatically put on our list to receive announcements about your membership status, upcoming events online and in your area, and other account-related correspondence. Because these are all key components to membership, the only way to opt out is to remove your account from our system, otherwise we have no way to correspond with you about your membership benefits.
When you RSVP for any events, you will also automatically receive email reminders prior to the event. When you sign up for sponsor opportunities, you will receive messages related to preparing for that opportunity.
With your permission, we may also send you emails with regular content, service offerings and specials, and other information related to Women with Moxie. Please know that we are intentional about everything that is sent out and endeavor to deliver content that is relevant to you. We are in the process of improving the ways that you can fine tune your email delivery; there is a heavy technical component to this aspect so we will unveil these new features as they are available.
We use a third-party provider, ActiveCampaign, to deliver some of our digital messages to you. We also use our own e-mail delivery system through the Women with Moxie site to send event reminders. We gather statistics around email opening and clicks using industry standard technologies to help us monitor and improve our e-newsletter. For more information, please see ActiveCampaign’s privacy notice.
You can unsubscribe to general mailings at any time of the day or night by clicking the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any of our emails or by emailing [email protected]. (Again, please be intentional, because most unsubscribes mean that you lose important membership benefits as a result and will no longer consistently receive messages related to your account. The exception is when you RSVP for an event, where an RSVP constitutes a clear intention to receive a notification. In the future we intend to offer more fine-grained control over your email delivery. Thank you for your patience while we implement these features.)
CONSENT
When you provide us with personal information to reply to a message sent from our contact from, complete a transaction, verify your credit card, or place an order, we imply that you consent to our collecting it and using it for that specific reason only. If we ask for your personal information for a secondary reason, like marketing, we will either ask you directly for your expressed consent, or provide you with an opportunity to say no. If after you opt-in, you change your mind, you may withdraw your consent for us to contact you, for the continued collection, use or disclosure of your information, at anytime, by contacting us at [email protected].
DISCLOSURE
We may disclose your personal information if we are required by law to do so or if you violate our Terms of Service.
